Whether you’re used to working from home full time or a college student studying for exams, you’ll quickly realize the importance of having a designated workspace, and how important it is to keep that area organized as a cluttered space can often decrease productivity.
There are several easy ways to help keep your workspace at home in order without having to add a ton of ugly and clunky office supplies. You don’t need a ton of products or need to spend a lot of money to quickly and efficiently organize the space. A few of the right tools can make all of the difference and help keep your desk clutter-free and productivity on track.
This month we made over our at-home workspace with the help of The Container Store, which has hundreds of organization products to help maximize home office space. And, we have to say we are really digging the store’s line of clear, acrylic desktop supplies, because it allows you to stay organized without sacrificing aesthetics.
The Acrylic Desktop File lets you keep all your important documents labeled and in one place, so you don’t have to frantically search through random piles of papers stacked on your desk while you’re on camera during a virtual call!
Having a ton of paperwork often calls for a stapler, and as cheesy as it sounds we’re suckers for matching accessories. Coordinating items help make a space look more polished and organized, so we opted for an acrylic and gold stapler opposed to the traditional chunky, black staplers that remind us of being back in elementary school.
The Acrylic Desktop Mail Center is ideal for storing work essentials and keeping them within reach. It will neatly store anything from your iPad and notebooks to pens and pencils. We also always keep a notepad close by to jot down daily to-do lists, sporadic thoughts, and inspirational ideas. The Poppin Sticky Ball is a personal favorite — not only does it have plenty of paper with 12 different sides that each offer 25 stickies, but it’s a lot of fun to look. We’ve also tossed it around a few times while brainstorming.
For client meetings and when we’re on the go we opt for the Poppin Soft Cover Notebook. It looks professional, is durable, comes with an interior pocket that’s perfect for holding business cards, and has an elastic closure strap to keep everything safely in place.
Like the desktop mail center, the Landscape Acrylic Paper Drawer provides a convenient place to store desk must-haves, extra printing paper, or chargers. The drawers easily slide in and out and are also a great place to keep smaller items like paper clips, staples, and push pins corralled.
We went a step further with our organization and added Mini Stack Boxes to the bottom drawer to keep those tiny items separated. Then we used museum gel on the bottom of each to keep them from moving around.
No desk is complete without a personal photo in a pretty frame!
